This month we are in Sri Lanka. We start in Galle a beautiful city on the coast of the Indian Ocean. This month the men and women on our squad are separated. Altogether we are 11 men. We found an amazing air bnb that could house all of us for a few days before we leave to our final destination. Our first day arriving we are greeted by a Chinese man named Marco. He was a very kind man and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. But that first night Marco asks us if we can let his friends take our rooms for the night. At first a few of the guys were not happy campers. After a couple minutes we agreed to let his friends have our rooms and we were put up in a hotel a few miles into town. We arrive at our hotel and find it to be beautiful. It has a beach front view with the sound of crashing waves to put you to sleep. Under the hotel was a restaurant but they has ran out of food when we got there. So we started walking looking for somewhere else to eat. We found a place that seemed ok. Our waiter was super cool and very helpful. We blessed him with prayer and a generous tip. On our way back to the hotel a man riding a bicycle points at my friends tattoo. Once he stopped to talk, we asked him if he has lower back pain. He said no his back was fine but his knee was hurting. We asked if we could pray for him and because of the language barrier he didn’t really understand. He started to ride away and I asked him again if we could pray right here and now. He said sure and I put my hands on his hurt knee. During the prayer I could feel the love of God for him. When we finished praying he looked at us with the biggest smile on his face. We asked him about his pain and he said no more pain. We told him that was the love of Jesus that healed him. He said thank you and rode off as happy as can be.

The thing that stood out to me the most was all the events that had to take place in order for us to meet this one guy. First Marco had to ask us to move from a home we had already reserved and paid for. We had to agree, then the hotel restaurant had to run out of food. We had to spend extra time with our waiter at the new restaurant. All in order for this one guy to ride his bicycle and point out a tattoo. Which then led us to pray for him and share Jesus. He got to feel the love of Jesus and be healed from pain. It’s so amazing and awesome the lengths God will go to reach that one person across the world in Sri Lanka. I love it!
