Hello everyone! I’m in Jaco Costa Rica right now. I got here last week and things have been incredible! We have been working with some men and women who happen to be homeless. We did a 3 day event with them and at the end of the event there was an option to enter into a rehab center for free. 4 of the men decided to go and I think it was one of my favorite things to see. They have to leave this city and travel to the capital, it’s a 2-3 hour bus ride just seeing them leave everything behind and take a leap of faith to another city is amazing. One of the first men I met was Mauricio, he looked really down when I first met him. When I began to talk to him about the hope of Jesus and that he was not forgotten he started to cry and we got to pray together. For the next 3 day’s I got to see him and each day I loved on him because he is beloved. Our event ended on Friday and that was the last time I thought I would see him. But this last Sunday at the local church I attend, Mauricio showed up! He said he wanted a fresh start, that he wasn’t using drugs or alcohol, he wants to get his life back together. He came to church to hear message of hope and hopefully find some work after taking to the Pastor. I prayed for him that day then went on my way. A few days later I had a meeting at the church and there he was, Mauricio had found a job working with the church! He was filled with joy and so thankful for what God had done in just a short amount of time.
Now after that outreach event the squad and myself basically know all the people on the streets, we know them all by name and they know us. It’s so cool to see those that are considered the “least of these.” I want to always live a life that searches and loves on those others cast away.
Praise report! This weekend we are going to be baptizing people in the ocean! Multiple people have wanted to give all of there lives to Jesus and say yes to Him with everything. I get the honor and privilege to baptize them so if you could be praying for open hearts to want more of Jesus and less of this world.
